I am talking about these retarded umbrella looking trees. The orignal Unreal trees are that ugly, that epic did not even use them in the final anymore. I am anyway not sure about the trees there, the original has palm trees as you most likely know. however this works with the materials there. I guess the resolution is even way too large for UEngine 3, if you add additional "effects". The GenFX mask gras (original 64² pix) is updated as well, afaik up to 2048², totally sick. Either then you export the corresonding orginal unreal palm trees via obj export an give them a highpoly cure (if you want to keep the UV data unchanged) or you have to change the textures for your need. Last but not ease bug Epic to port UT3 into UDK so I can continue this remake with more modern tools here!ĭieHard`s Textures: Yes, totally required.Īlso somebody else here around called "ahaigh" (I had to check PMs to find his name) has remastered the UnrealShare textures, at least most of them and at least the most important ones, like the palm trees.

If you prefer you remake more true to the original checkout Sly's remake here: UoF Video showing Vortex Legacy and the pack here: The multiplayer version contains some layout modification and alternate soundscape.

There's also multiplayer variants of my version of the Vortex named Vortex Legacy that's featured in two UoF map packs. My version of the Vortex Rikers is already released for play.(Requires UT3!!. I have limited skills and do what's within my skill set so I hope you like what you see and eventually play!Īll log entries are in from the original game as well and look like the following: The official thread over at UoF has further details on how I'll go about making this mod and alterations from the original! you aren't allowed to create any Unreal game remakes in UDK) Legacy is confined to being a UT3 mod for legal reasons. I know most people prefer a more authertic remake but I wanted to make my own homage to Unreal while not being restricted by a true remake. I can't say how far I'll get with the remake but I'll be going through the levels in order so there's a proper start that old fans and new fans alike can relive Unreal in an updated context. Level design in general will stay very close to the original game and I intend to use a lot of the sounds from the original. By 'inspired' I mean it's a remake but modernized with UT3 visuals and my personal style while trying to keep the original essence of Unreal intact. My mod is named Legacy and it's an 'inspired' modernized remake of the original Unreal game. I thought I'd join and post my mod that's dedicated to the original Unreal! I'm an amatuer mapper and have been mapping for a few years now for UT3! Found this forum via a link on the Epic forums and it's great to see a community with high interest in the original Unreal game.
